Marine Airbags’ Repair

It’s a common thing now for some marine airbags to be repaired after several launching projects. Since they bear a lot during the whole ship launching or vessel hauling out project and get some wounds or holes. But with good repair and maintenance, ship launching marine airbags would perform as well as before, probably with a longer lifespan.

How to repair marine airbags? Here follows is a short summary of our marine airbags.

1. Clear up throughly inner and outer airbags to ensure completely clean especially for the outer surface.

2. Marking/identified the air leakage area by extending wound part outward 15 mm.

3. Structure layerial segregate by 2~6 layers depends on the size of flake leakage area. Eg. Leakage area approx 100 mm or propagting fracture 50~70 mm will be patched with 4~6 layers And its better to equipped cushion of Nylon.

Note:
>> The material of interleave should be same with the marine airbags, and the angle of line also should be same with the marine airbags body.

>> The  first layer of interleave is ordinate length = the length of  “wound” +50 x 2m

>> The second layer of interleave is bias. The angle should be same with the airbag. And it is 20 mm bigger than the first layers.

>> The third lay of interleave also is bias.
